Artists 'CIRIA' : Exhibition at 'Institut Valencia D'Art Modern,' Spain

Ciria is a Spanish Painter but lived most his life in Spain. His work is very abstract and the section of colors create a lot of tension in particularity the red. I was surprised to see with the portrait above part of a series that he used fine liners. He captures a lot of emotion, and a feeling of tourched souls, his work and been compared to Francis Bacon. His influences include Jackson Pollock and MirĂ³.

I like his looseness with the paint which is really expressive. I feel the freedom of the strokes gives his portraits extra life and impact, you can definitely see the influence of Jackson pollock with his techniques of broad strokes.
